WOW - I bought a house

I cannot believe the last two weeks – closed on a house, it was a short sale and we had to wait three months to get the house, but it is worth it :D. This is pretty close to my dream house.

We closed on December 21st and we moved today. It took 6 guys and 9 hours, but it is done and I have internet access and cable too. Lots came together today.

Lots to do starting tomorrow, but I need to finish writing three White Collar stories, oops make that four stories. I need one more for a bingo, a h/c story for the advent calendar due December 31st, and story due January 7th for Last Author Standing, and I am working on a story where Peter meets El’s parents for the first time. Plus I have lots of stories to catch up on reading.

Currently sitting at my kitchen table looking out at the moon, can’t recall the last time I did that. Looking forward to tomorrow when I can sit and look out at the new backyard. I even purchased bird feeders to see what I can attract. Although I am only a block away from the Mississippi River and I understand from the neighbors that eagles will fly through. Also in the spring, deer follow the river and came into the neighborhood.

Heading off to bed soon, exhausted from the day.

As a fellow new homeowner, I congratulate and commisserate with you.

Have fun unpacking! Don't forget to come up for air.

Don't know how you managed it --- or are you still unloading boxes? I know I unpacked boxes today, but it does not look like it! Time to actually take a break and write some White Collar.

Hope you have a great New Year in your new house.

I still have a lot of boxes to unpack - but it's not household stuff - my very large collection of antique porcelain that I have no place to put right now.

The important - day to day stuff - took about three weeks. I think my bedroom was unpacked in a day, then my kitchen took a while, I needed shelves installed. The rest of the stuff was unpacked on the weekends.

Just be patient.

Again, congratulations!
